Map of Santa CruzSanta Cruz is located on the north side of the Monterey Bay on the central California coast, just south of San Francisco. Santa Cruz is accessible through major highways and the San Francisco, San Jose, and Monterey International Airports are within commuting distance. If making electronic driving calculations, use the campus address of 1156 High Street, Santa Cruz, CA 95064.

TO SANTA CRUZ

From Southern and Central California:
Take US Highway 101 North to State Route 156 West to State Route 1 North. Follow State Route 1 North to Santa Cruz.

From Northern California:
Take Interstate 5 South to Interstate 80 West to Interstate 680 South to Interstate 280 North. Then take State Route 17 South to State Route 1 North to Santa Cruz.

From San Francisco Airport:
Take US Highway 101 South (toward San Jose) to State Route 85 south to State Route 17 south to State Route 1 North to Santa Cruz.

From San Jose Airport:
Take Interstate 880 South which turns into State Route 17 South to State Route 1 North.

From Monterey Airport:
Take State Route 1 North to Santa Cruz.

TO CAMPUS

Once you are in Santa Cruz on State Route 1 North (toward Half Moon Bay), follow the highway as it becomes Mission Street through town. Stay on Mission for approximately 1.5 miles, then turn right on Bay Street and follow it to the campus main entrance, at the corner of Bay and High streets.

Upon entering campus you can purchase a parking permit. The kiosk is immediately on your right hand side after the campus main entrance, at the corner of Bay and High Streets. Pull into the small parking lot to purchase your permit.

TO THE CHEMISTRY DEPARTMENT

Continue on Bay Street, which becomes Coolidge Drive on campus. Continue on Coolidge Drive, which becomes McLaughlin Drive when entering upper campus. After stopping at the fourth stop sign you will see the Physical Sciences Building on your left side.

The Chemistry Department is located on the second floor of the Physical Sciences Building in room 230. (See campus map and a map of Science Hill.)

Parking is available adjacent to the Physical Sciences Building at the Core West parking structure. To reach the entrance of the structure, continue on McLaughlin Drive and turn left at Heller Drive. The entrance is immediately on the left hand side.
