Computer Programs for Matrix Manipulation
Students need computer accounts on hydrogen.ucsc.edu.
Graduate students should already have accounts but undergraduates who
don't already have accounts should give me their desired login name.
Instructions for Mathematica, Matlab, GAUSSIAN may be found on the WWW.
I will also be available (156 or 157 PSB) on Monday, 7th April,
for anyone who needs help with computer setup.

doing the "EXERCISES" in our Matrices Tutorial as a
WWW handout
Please go over problem #3 in preparation for Thursday's (3 April) lecture. Problems #1-#3
will be due on Tuesday, 15th April (updated).
VIRTUAL LAB FOR MATRIX MANIPULATION
Computer accounts are now available for all Chemistry 273 students. There is
a handout
PBSci WebSSH describing how to acess chemistry 273 programs (e.g. matlab) using PBSci WebSSH.
Homework #2
Please prepare the point group problem HW#3 Problem 10 for Thursday 24 April. Elena will lead a discussion
of the problem and it will NOT be turned in with the other HW#3 problems.
Problems #13-20 are due Tuesday, 20th May
Problems #21-25 are due Tuesday, 27th May

We have a NEW protocol for accessing MATLAB (and perhaps many other programs);
I just learned of this (and need to switch from previous) about 10 minutes ago.
The 'official' instructions on downloading WINOWS VIRTUAL TERMINAL and accessing programs
are at
http://ic.ucsc.edu/services/virtual_computer_labs/ .
To answer ALL login and password prompts use your UCSC (not chemistry)
login and password (these would be the ones you use to access your e-mail at
xxxx.@ucsc.edu. The "xxxx" is your login name for UCSC.
If you need help with this, bring your laptop to PSB 157.
I should be around SAT 5th April 10-12 AM (but make an appointment)
and will be available on
Monday afternoon 7th April 2-4PM (without appt).
