Chemistry Undergrads Recipients of Koret Undergraduate Research Scholarships

Seven Chemistry and Biochemistry and Molecular Biology majors are recipients of first Koret Undergraduate Research Scholarships.

January 02, 2018

Congratulations are in order to seven of our department undergraduates and their research mentors!  The Koret Foundation selected UC Santa Cruz as one of 12 Koret University Partners and provided a $1 million grant for the new Koret Undergraduate Research ScholarshipsStudents receive a $1,500 scholarship and up to $500 for research expenses. The grant will also provide stipends to faculty members and graduate students, who will mentor each project.

Koret Scholars are expected to work with their mentors in 2- or 5-credit independent studies. Koret Undergraduate Research Scholarships are intended to enable students to participate in a research project outside of their courses in collaboration with faculty and/or graduate students.
